pH and Live

What is pH. Scientifically, pH stands for potential hydrogen. pH measures the H+ (Hydrogen) ions in the bodies. Dr. Tom Morter, Jr., author of,"pH, your potential for health" and the B.E.S.T. health system, says, pH means " potential for health" It determines acidity or alkalinity of the body, and of other environments, such as, fish tanks, hot tubs, and soil. It is the formula that must be in balance for optimal health. As we know, a fish tank or hot tub cannot be out of balance on pH or things grow, and get dirty. If the fish tank is not pH balanced and cleaned right away, the fish get sick, the fish die! The body works the same way.
Science has discovered pH of the body, determines the health value of the body. If you are acidic, the body is prone and susceptible to dis-ease, if you are alkaline balanced, you do not have an environment for any degenerative disease to grow in.
What makes you alkaline or acidic?
Foods, environment, thoughts, all of these things effect your pH levels. There are two pH levels that you can check yourself and one that must be checked by a lab with a blood test. The urine and the saliva can be checked at home using ph papers. The optimal pH for both the urine and the saliva is 7.0 the optimal pH for blood is 7.3 - 7.4. Below 7.3 is considered metabolic acidosis (or acidic blood) at which point disease begins. Urine pH under 6.4: the body cannot optimally assimilate vitamins, minerals, and other nutrients, Says Dr. Mark Cochran, BS, DC, ND. Author of The Secrets of pH.
I have been studying pH for 4 years now. Where I first learned about it, was on television Dr. Barefoot, who stated that "No degenerative Dis-Ease could live in a pH balanced environment” that sounded easy, I will just get pH-ed! Not a problem, I will drink more water, right? Not necessarily, according to Dr. Morter and many others, the water we drink llet’ssay from the tap is loaded with chemicals. Chemicals are one of the highest contributors of producing acid in the body as well as the environment. So water is very important because if you are drinking the recommended dose of 8-10 8 oz. glasses a day, plus bathing or swimming in water that is full of chemicals, such as, chlorine, fluoride, both of which have been discovered to be some of the most dangerous chemicals in our environment today, then you are adding more acid to the pH levels. According to Kevin Trudeau, New York Times bestseller author of "Natural Cures they don't want you to know about", says " it has been discovered by science that chlorine causes massive scarring of the arteries, which in turn means, no matter how much cholesterol you have or don't have, whatever cholesterol is there, will attach itself and begin the clogging process. Which of course leads to clogged arteries, arteriosclerosis and heart disease." Also, according to Tredueau, "it has been reported that since the skin is the largest organ of the body, that we absorb more toxins by taking one shower, than by drinking 5 glasses of water".
It is real important to check your tap water and your bottled water for a pH of at least 6.8 or higher, or why drink or bathe in it? It may be more harmful then helpful at bringing the pH into balance. You can purchase pH-testing paper at a variety of places that can test your saliva, urine and water, with the same product.
According to Dr. Cochran, personal care products are a huge contributing factor to pH and toxicity in the body as well as the environment that we live in. " Shampoos, soaps, cosmetics, hair dyes, etc. are absorbed through the skin and will contribute to toxicity and, therefore, an acidic pH reading."
Then there are our foods that we eat. Unlike what you may think, tomatoes are not acidic to the body inside, only on the outside. It's amazing that the body converts natural foods and ingredients to benefit creation, unlike man, who converts natural ingredients into un-natural ingredients to benefit himself! (In his bank account!).
According to Dr. Morter there are 6 essentials to life: What you eat, what you drink, how you exercise, how you rest, how and what you breathe, and what you think.
What we think? Yes, according to Dr. Morter. You are what you think! I know, you've heard that many times, but it turns out, GOD was right! (Da). Science has also proven it correct. Go figure.

An imbalanced pH affects all cellular activity in the body, leading to the progression of most degenerative diseases, including cardiovascular disease and heart disease, high blood pressure, high cholesterol levels, kidney stones, urinary incontinence, arthritis, osteoporosis, cancer, diabetes, systemic weight gain and obesity
1. Proper fat metabolism and weight control.
When the body is in it's natural alkaline state, body weight and insulin production normalize. When we alkalize the body, it works so well at dropping excess weight that many of us lose weight just by eating more alkaline foods, and by adding supplements that alkalize, to our diets.
2. Proper calcium utilization.
The body will do ANYTHING to maintain a balanced pH, including the leaching of important minerals like calcium, potassium and sodium from the tissues. To maintain alkalinity, the body first goes for sodium, then potassium, and then calcium. It literally leaches the calcium from your bones, making your bones porous and fragile. This is a major contributor to both osteoporosis and osteoarthritis.
3. Appropriate cholesterol levels
Balancing your pH helps to maintain proper cholesterol levels so that plaque does not form.
4. Controls cancer cells.
Cancer cells thrive in an acidic environment, and perish in an alkaline one. Cancer cells simply cannot survive in an alkaline environment!
5. Proper electrolyte activity and efficient heart function.
Proper electrolyte activity is crucial to balanced energy levels.
6. Smooth blood flow.
To alkalize helps to remove plaque from the arteries, veins, and heart tissue.
7. Healthy oxygen flow.
When we alkalize the bloodstream, it flushes toxins from tissues and prevents against premature aging.
So what do we do now! How can we get pH’d? It seems impossible, but after my pity party that I had with myself, and after almost just giving up on the subject, I knew that if I didn't care about myself, which I do,
What about my family? I had my husband, 2 teenagers, and a baby at that time, what about them? The information was too important to just stick my head in the sand and forget about it, the truth was, there is a way to help myself my family, and the world, with just being educated, to make better choices.
So my mission began to slowly change my lifestyle. Get educated and make some changes. I know that baby steps leads to success, and that is where I started. First off I got rid of as many household cleaning and laundry products, bath and beauty products that I could handle. I found a soap product that I could clean my home, body, hair, care laundry, just about everything, with. I even balanced my hot tub with this soap. It was amazing! All organic and chemical free! Things started changing immediately. My clothes were soft with out fabric softener, my acne was gone with out acne meds, and my teeth were clean with out fluoride. My children got fewer colds, skin irritations and
Allergies. I made sure we were drinking good water, I purchased a pH testing kit from the same company I purchased the soap. I found information on foods that alkalize, just from my everyday diet, again, baby steps. I knew I would fail if I had to completely drop everything, especially food. I started with foods that I was already eating, and then just ate more or less of them, such as carrots, salads, and fruit. Most of the highest acidic foods are: sodas, artificial sweeteners, Pork, shellfish, the obvious I guess, that we are always told not to eat so much of. It turns out that sodas, or carbonated drinks, block calcium absorption. Calcium is one of the most important building blocks of nutrition.
I started gathering info that was very available and just read it. The changes have been life giving, and now many people I personally know have been transformed just from taking little steps in getting educated on pH. We have taken control of our own health.
